Parametric Linear Actuator

When I came across 3D printable linear actuators on Youtube, I was pretty excited. The ability to print custom actuators for a fraction of the price is incredibly helpful, so I decided to design my own. To make my own life easier down the line, I also decided I wanted my design to be parametric, so I could enter what size of actuator I want and the information on the lead screw I am using and have Solidworks update my design accordingly. To do this I used Solidworks' assembly level global variables and equations to update the size of the actuator, as well as the pitch, threads per inch, number of thread starts, and more for my lead screw. This means that by changing just a couple of numbers I have a completely new linear actuator ready to print. These actuators will be incredibly helpful in a number of projects I have on the go... so stay tuned.
